Natural Stone Academy Set for AIA Chicago

CHESTERTOWN, N.Y. – Six stone-industry organizations will unite to form the Natural Stone Academy (NSA) offering in-booth education sessions at the AIA National Expo in Chicago on June 26-28.

The Building Stone Institute, Indiana Limestone Institute, Natural Stone Council, Marble Institute of America, Veronafiere/Marmomacc America and Hanley Wood Exhibitions will contribute to the eight CEU sessions given in the NSA Learning Lounge.

Natural-stone topics in the one-hour sessions will range from basics of natural stone, care and maintenance, thin veneer, anchoring systems, and building information modeling (BIM) for stone. An exclusive overview of the industry’s new sustainability standard will be part of two sessions on sustainable stone building.

AIA Expo booth 3806 will be the NSA Learning Lounge, and booth 3807 will host the associations’ exhibit counters. The BSI will hold a “Meet the Winners” reception there on June 26 at 3 p.m. to celebrate the 2014 Tucker Design Award winners honored earlier in the week.
